A RECORD OF ACCOMPLISHMENT

WORKING FAMILIES & SOCIAL SERVICES

  • Farrah authored Irvine's HERO Pay Ordinance, the first in Orange County, to ensure the recognition our essential workers deserve. (Source: Voice of OC)

  • Farrah authored Irvine's first Community Workforce Agreement, creating highly paid, highly skilled jobs for local residents and creating career pathways for high school graduates and veterans. (Source: June 13, 2023 Council Meeting)

  • Farrah introduced the Eviction Diversion Program to help families stay in their homes and mitigate the rippling impact of an eviction on our community.

  • As Mayor, Farrah spearheaded the launch of Be Well OC in the City of Irvine, bringing critically needed mental health response teams to the city. (Source: City of Irvine)

LGBTQ EQUALITY ADVOCACY

  • Under Farrah‘s leadership as Mayor, the City of Irvine became the first city in Orange County to receive a 100% score from the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index(Source: City of Irvine)

  • Farrah co-authored the first resolution the City of Irvine has adopted to fly the Pride Flag at City Hall. (Source: Voice of OC, Voice of OC)

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES

  • As Mayor, Farrah launched an Innovation Council that spurred a new Innovation Lab for local startup companies and an accompanying incubator. (Source: Orange County Business Journal)

  • Under her leadership, the City of Irvine has invested nearly $400,000 to end food insecurity in Irvine through American Rescue Plan funds. (Source: October 12, 2021 City Council Meeting)

COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY, EQUALITY, & INCLUSION

  • Farrah authored a council action to create a city Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. (Source: City of Irvine)

  • She led the charge to direct $5 million in American Rescue Plan funds toward supporting immigrants in Irvine .(Source: October 12, 2021 City Council Meeting)

ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE & TRANSIT

  • As Mayor, Farrah introduced an item to implement the city's Transit Vision and Pilot, including a dedicated transit route along one of Irvine's most heavily transited corridors and a microtransit area. (Source: City of Irvine)

  • Farrah introduced and passed the City of Irvine's first e-bike ordinance, establishing a framework for electrically powered mobility solutions. (Source: City of Irvine)

  • In 2021, Farrah authored an item requiring Irvine to begin divesting from companies that go against our environmental and social values, including fossil fuel companies, for-profit prisons, anti-LGBTQ organizations and others.
